8th FIGE International Symposium on Governance and Public Performance

As is customary, this international conference was attended by a distinguished group of guests, including regional leaders and long-standing FIGE partners, notably Dr. Monica MUIRU, Vice Chair of the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission of Kenya (EACC), and Mr. Daniel IAROSSI, Investigator, Unit B.4 – International Operations and Investigations, European Anti-Fraud Office (OLAF).

Led by several international experts, including the OLAF representative, Mr. Daniel Iarossi, the Vice President of the EACC, Professor Farouk Hemici, Michel Dognon and Bechir Meana, international experts; Mr. Souleyman Serre, a certified public accountant; Mr. Paoulo Alves of Angola’s IGA; Mr. Alxis Hibault, Secretary General of Côte d’Ivoire’s IGE; and finally Dr. Jean Claude Mouko of the Republic of Congo’s IGE.

In particular, participants had the opportunity to discuss concepts of governance and the various oversight bodies, as well as performance and how it is measured using indicators. Other topics related to national governance practices, along with case studies on fraud prevention and investigative methodology, provided the framework for discussions and exchanges during this important conference.

At the conclusion of the event, the participants expressed their heartfelt gratitude to His Excellency Ismaïl Omar Guelleh and his government for their unwavering support of our organization, as well as to the experts and partners who provided rich and varied content related to our organization’s core mission: good governance, the fight against corruption, and best practices in public sector auditing.
