The President of the Republic of Djibouti, Mr. Ismail Omar Guelleh, received the heads of the member institutions of the Steering Committee of the Forum of State Inspectorates General of African Countries at the Palace of the Republic on 25 October 2023.

The FIGE delegation, introduced by the Inspector General of the State of Djibouti, informed the President of the Republic of the conclusions of the steering committee’s work and the progress of FIGE’s activities since its creation in Djibouti in February 2006.

During this meeting, FIGE members expressed their gratitude to the President of the Republic, who has always provided unwavering support to FIGE since its creation. FIGE members presented the President of the Republic with the general strategic guidelines resulting from the conclusions of their work.

After welcoming the Inspectors General of Congo, Angola, Côte d’Ivoire, Mauritania, Madagascar and Burkina Faso to Djibouti, the President of the Republic congratulated the members of the Steering Committee on the results achieved to date, urging them to continue working to strengthen and promote governance and administrative transparency in Africa.

The Head of State reaffirmed his support and that of the Republic of Djibouti for the FIGE. He stated that the necessary resources would be mobilised to enable the Djibouti General Inspectorate to play its key role within the FIGE.

At the end of the meeting, the Inspector General of the State of Djibouti thanked the President of the Republic on behalf of the FIGE members for the time he had devoted to the FIGE despite his very busy schedule.
