
The President of the Republic of Angola, His Excellency João Manuel Gonçalves Lourenço, granted an audience to the members of the FIGE Steering Committee on 23 October 2024 at the presidential palace.
During this meeting, the President of the Republic of Angola emphasised the importance his government attaches to good governance and the key role played by the Inspectorates-General of State in African countries. The Head of State affirmed that the work of these institutions is difficult but necessary and encouraged FIGE members to redouble their efforts in their missions to combat corruption and fraud in the management of public affairs. He wished every success to the proceedings of the 9th General Assembly and the 11th International Colloquium and reaffirmed his willingness to support capacity building for the Forum of African State Inspectorates General and Similar Institutions (FIGE).
This meeting, marked by warmth and hospitality, was an opportunity for members to thank the President of the Republic for the warm welcome they received and for the exceptional support provided by the General Inspectorate of the Angolan State Administration since its accession to FIGE.
